I’d love to be good at makeup

Because I sure as hell am NOT! I’m so jealous of girls that can do amazing things with their eyeshadows, eyeliners and everything! I am just no good at it. No matter what I do, it’s never good.

Maybe I need some better eyeshadows, or better brushes or am I just forever doomed to suck at doing my makeup?ย D:

  1. Try watching lots of youtube tutorials!!! For eye shadow, blending is important. Put a darker shade in the outer corner and crease of your eye, and a lighter color in the inner corner. Then blend, blend, blend! I find that a magnifying mirror really helps when you’re starting to practice with makeup. I recommend investing in a good shadow palette like Urban Decay’s Naked palette! Good luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I watch so many! I just can’t seem to do it.. I think it’s because my eyes are so big, it’s harder to do cool things? I don’t know. I’m no makeup guru! and I will definitely look into that palette! Thanks!

  2. I feel you! I felt the same when I first started applying makeup. I think the key is to watch a lot of tutorials and to practice. You may want to invest in better brushes too – they make such a difference! As for makeup products, both drugstore and high-end are amazing, I have both in my small makeup collection! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I really do need some more brushes! I am hopefully picking some up tomorrow actually. I’ve got some sephora eyeshadows that are alright. I have pale skin so it’s hard to sometimes make colors look good I feel.. especially with lipstick, gah!

  3. Invest in a really good blending brush, that’s the one thing that I can’t live without. Plus it’s all about getting used to seeing your face with different looks on it. I am really pale and have freckles and spent years with barely there makeup. Now I use a lot more colour and it’s taken me a while to see my face like this and not think I look like a clown. My biggest change in 2014 was making myself wear bold lipsticks nearly everyday until it felt “normal”.

Also a good tip is that if you struggle with having eye makeup and a lip make sure that the colours you are using all work together. There are cool and warm colours so making sure that you have warm eyes with a warm lip and visa versa helps bring it all together. Keep practicing it’s worth the effort ๐Ÿ’‹

    • New brushes are on my to get list! I’m going to have to just buy a bunch of different lipstick shades to see which ones go with me. I love red’s but I have big teeth that aren’t bright, white and beautiful so they really stick out with lipstick on which is why I’ve stayed away from it forever.

Brush tip: Sigma! Very affordable and great quality. No loose of hair. Better than MAC brushes. Thats my opinion though โ˜บ๏ธ good luck!! X
